BLACK VELVET
* Re: 08.mid Identified As:
Black
Velvet. |
| BLACK
VELVET - 2 * Fool Has Been Identified And Renamed As: Black Velvet by Alannah Myles (Version 2) The song you have marked as 'Fool' on your Jazz page is actually the song 'Black Velvet', which was performed by Alana Miles (sp) in the late 80's or early 90's. It was not a jazz tune by any means. Thanks, Doug Waxler (Thanks To You - I knew I liked that tune! Jack) |
| CLASSICAL
GAS
* Re: clasclgs.mid
Has Been Identified As Classical Gas: |
| Crying * Crying Has Been Identified As: Crying - From TopCat Crying By Roy Orbison - 1962 - Country/Pop (Thanks, TopCat1303) [I Knew I Should Have Known That Tune!] After TopCat Helped Me Out On This Tune, I Realized I Had A Much Better Version, Which I Have Now Posted! |
| Dead
And Bloated *DED26BLOT Has Been Identified As: Dead And Bloated By The "Stone Temple Pilots" There is a song on your "unknown songs" page by the file name DED26BLOT. The song is called 'Dead and Bloated' by Stone Temple Pilots. Thought I could help out a bit. Have a good day! :-) Lullabye (Thanks, Lullabye, I Would Never Have Figured This One Out!) |
| JUMP,
JIVE AN' WAIL * JJW Has Been Identified As Jump, Jive, An' Wail 5/11/99 From Alfren From Sweden. Your request about "jjw.mid" = Jump, Jive An' Wail - Brian Setzer Orchestra. After receiving Alfrens mail I did a little more research on the tune and discovered it was originally written and recorded by Louis Prima as a Dixieland Swing, R&B, tune in 1958. It was recorded later in the 90's by The Brian Setzer Orchestra on their "Dirty Boogie" album. Thanks, Alfren For Identifying The Tune - Jack |
| MARCO AND GEENA'S LOVE THEME * Re: Crimson Has Been Identified As Marco and Geena's Love Theme: 1/31/99 - My Original Question: Could This Tune Be "Crimson And Clover" By Tommy James & The Shondells-60's-70's Or Joan Jett And The Blackhearts-70's-90's
2/10/99 "Crimson" doesn't get anywhere near "Crimson
and Clover" as far as I can tell (I fell asleep waiting for something
to happen). I'll download them and play them on the Roland. Maybe
they'll sound better (my computer uses Kurzweil samples in the Turtle
Beach sound card, so it's not hard to listen to!).
The file "Crimson" is definitely NOT "Crimson and
Clover". Not a piece of a phrase or a common cadence between
the two exists (that I can detect). There are no hints in the file
either. Some of it sounds like Barbra Streisand's duet with Barry Gibb,
"What Kind of Fool", but
I don't get anything else from it.
Crimson comes up in these listing in Billboard
magazine's database:
Your Crimson file is definitely not Crimson and
Clover.
3/22/99 - Well I accidentally identified this song myself, along with
the help of the Midi Explorer search engine. Crimson, as noted on
this page is Is "Marco and Geena's Love
Theme", from the Japanese |

MARIO2 * Mario2 Has Been Identified As: Mario2 From Gary Wood The Midi is the theme song for the Super Mario Brothers 2 Video game for the original Nintendo Entertainment System, I know the theme, and the game all too well! (Thanks, Gary) |

MERCURY
BLUES
My wife and I believe that the song MERCURY is originally done by ALAN JACKSON and the name of the song is MERCURY BLUES, there is a commercial for Ford that advertises their Trucks and ALAN Jackson sings the commercial for them. The main verse is If I had money I tell you what I would do I would go down town and buy a Ford Truck or Two, Crazy bout a Ford Truck...... What do you think???

More info received from Randy

| UNO Jan-1999-I Posted This Tune About A Year Ago As "Unotango". I Haven't Received One Clue Other Than That It Is A Latin Tango. I Guess I Better Give Up On Correctly Naming This One! I Still Kind Of Like It So I'm Moving It To My Miscellaneous Featured Tunes Page! 02'21'00-After Well Over A Year, I Received E-Mail From Jimmie McGuire Saying He Found The Tune At A Spanish Web Site. With That Lead And A Little Further Searching, I Finally Found Lots Of Information. *Unotango Has Finally Been Identified As: "Uno" The Original Composers Were Enrique Santos Discepolo And Marianito Mores And The First Artist Was "Marianito Mores" From Argentina And The Song Has Now Been Recorded On More Than 70 Albums From The 40's Through The 90's" By Many Latin And South American Artists. In This Research Also With Jimmies' Help I Found A MIDI Version That Is Probably Much Closer To The Original Song, Sequenced By "Luciano Quinones" From Puerto Rico In 1997. Play This Version Here "UNO" Thanks, Jimmie |
